The Premium range is still evolving and now offers the general public the opportunity to choose the camber best suited to each skier’s size. It is also a great opportunity to adapt your skis to certain types of snow. This Soft version is the most flexible offered by Rossignol. 

What are the characteristics of the Rossignol X-IUM Skating Premium S2 Soft IFP cross-country ski?   

Lots of innovations in Rossignol’s racing workshops! The Premium is now available with three different cambers to give everyone the opportunity to choose a more exclusive and appropriate ski. This Soft version is the most flexible of the brand, it is above all intended for lightweight skiers and can also be very useful in soft snow conditions for skiers who already have other pairs and whose weight is compatible with the Soft camber. On the construction side, there is also a little bit of novelty, with a lighter and reinforced tip that ensures that the ski is released with less pendulum effect when returning below the centre of gravity. The Premium also has a new heel reinforcement, which optimises the ski’s grip when skating on compact snow and minimises energy loss. The external structure has also been lightened, with a new ABS 3 Edge Energy Sensor edge concept now in one piece. The ski is better balanced, with a livelier spatula exit and more aggressive heel. For the ultimate degree in performance, Rossignol has brought out the heavy artillery question glides with its new K 7000 2.0 sole. On the S2 models, which are the most versatile in the range, this sole has a cold multi-purpose structure, perfect for the most common snow conditions, between 0 and -6°C. Add these new features to the Nomex shell sandwiched between two sheets of high modulus carbon and the result is explosive! The IFP mounting plate is exclusively suitable for Turnamic bindings, compatible with NNN, Prolink and Turnamic boot standards. Speaking of sensations, this Soft version offers more flexibility without depriving skiers of the dynamic and aggressive behaviour of the Rossignol skis. There is a clear improvement in the skis’ performance during the time-out phases with an even better balance than on previous versions.

  Nomex core Ultra-light composite honeycomb core, combined with carbon, fiberglass wrap and thin wood sidewalls. Reduces weight and provides optimum consistency.

  IFP – Integrated Fixation Plate Built in two pieces, this integrated plate reduces negative constraints on camber in order to optimise the ski conduct. The anchor point on the binding fore part, the thin plate and the flexibility ensure precise support, enhanced contact feel and better glide feel. The IFP plates only work with Turnamic bindings.
