The new Aipa Wrecking Ball colab with Surftech in their excellent Fusion technology is finally here. The Aipa surfing legacy started with Ben and is now continued by Duke Aipa, this model the Wrecking Ball features the classic wing design together with a full nose and broad outline, a wave catching monster with way more performance than you’d expect.
The Wrecking Ball is kind of a super groveler, it features updated bottom contours from the original concept, a rolled nose goes into a single concave under the front foot, double through the fins and then V out of the tail. Ride it as a quad and you’ll find that this board generates crazy amounts of speed, the winged design allows you to temper this speed and get the board doing what you want it to do! If you’re in the market for a groveler this is well worth a look, paddle power, speed and control all wrapped up in one slightly crazy package.
The Surftech Fusion construction features a closed cell EPS core which won’t soak up water if you hole the board, epoxy resin and E glass, this gives you a lightweight board that will retain its performance and integrity indefinitely. This hand finished beauty is a brilliant smaller wave option, this surfboard colab between Aipa and Surftech is a winner!
