The Mammut Barryvox 2is a compact, intuitive, and ultra-efficient avalanche transceiver. With a range of 70 metres and numerous features, it ensures maximum safety in the mountains. Equipped with a 3-antenna receiver, it boasts multiple advanced functionalities, such as start-up and continuous self-tests, the Rescue-SEND function, and automatic transmission switching in case of a secondary avalanche. The high-resolution display, along with the vocal and sound guidance system, provides clear instructions to efficiently direct rescuers to victims buried under the snow. Thanks to the Mammut smartphone app, this transceiver can be easily updated. The app also allows for parameter configuration and provides access to training simulations to ensure you are prepared to react in an emergency.

The Barryvox 2 stands out with a search width of 70 metres and interference management features, optimising its performance even in the presence of other electronic devices. The self-test function ensures the device is working correctly at start-up and continuously. The Auto-Select function guides rescuers to the strongest or nearest signal in the event of multiple burials. The SafeLock function prevents accidental activation of the Search mode. The Rescue-SEND function ensures the safety of the rescuer using the transceiver. If a second avalanche occurs and the rescuer is buried, their position is immediately sent to the transceivers of other rescuers on the surface, allowing them to start searching for the buried rescuer immediately.

What to do in case of an avalanche?

To locate an avalanche victim, simply switch to receive mode. The Barryvox 2 guides you precisely with its automatic guidance and vocal and sound indications, in addition to the instructions displayed on the screen. From the 3-metre zone, a fine search is initiated to pinpoint the victim’s location, followed by probing and shovelling to free the buried person.

How does the Barryvox 2 work in multi-victim mode?

The Barryvox 2 features the Auto-Select function to guide the searcher to the strongest or nearest signal. The reverse direction function prevents 180-degree search errors, and the deep burial mode ensures a fine and precise search as soon as the victim is detected at more than 3 metres.
