Description

The Form Mode X surfboard in PL (Performance Lite) eps epoxy construction. This little gem couldn’t have arrived at a more opportune time; swell has been pumping and all the indicators are that we’re in for an epic Spring in the UK and Europe!
The Mode X is the board you never leave home without; whether you’re headed to your home break or hopping on a long haul flight to Oz or the States etc.
Difficult to pigeonhole, the Mode X sits somewhere between your out-and-out groveller and your performance shortboard, think Pyzel Gremlin or Bradley Solution without the larger price tag!
Always a good indicator, the demo model has been almost impossible to lay your hands on during this last run of swell, with nearly everyone frothing about the Mode X’s willingness to perform in mediocre surf and its paddle friendly personality.
The Mode X is nice and wide under the chest with a pretty flat rocker both of which help with paddling, early wave entry and speed maintenance over flat sections.
The bottom contours are minimal; largely flat from the flip in the nose blending into a moderate double concave to single out the tail. The wide tail lifts you into waves much earlier than you’d expect giving you more time to setup your bottom turn and prepare for your first manoeuvre. Five fin boxes is a must on a versatile little board like this, giving you the option to turbo-charge with a quad set when smaller and weaker waves are on offer.
Competent shortboarders will love the Mode X when the waves are smaller and the crowds heavy, while the intermediate and older rider will benefit from the boards generous and stable nature especially when sized right for their build and ability.

This project is hugely exciting for all involved and we think the guys have absolutely nailed it, producing some of the coolest looking, well priced, UK hand-made and premium finish shortboards, hybrids and mid-lengths available today.
