Description

The all new Firewire Gem longboard in the amazing Helium Construction. The Gem is a collaboration between Dan Mann and 3X World Longboard Champion Taylor Jensen. Taylor asked Dan to consider a ‘one board in the trunk’ option for long boarders who want both trim and turns; he was essentially asking Dan for a design that would land somewhere between his TJPro and his TJEveryday. Dan’s response was an intriguing intersection of shortboard style concaves with a longboard style outline and the same fin placements that Taylor likes in all his boards.
Setup with the single fin and side bites The Gem is going to give you all the wave catching of a standard longboard but with superior turning ability and the ability to walk the board. The Gem is our best selling longboard for good reason, it suits the beginner as well as working well for the more seasoned logger.
Firewire’s Helium tech is all about making an already amazing set of construction options even better. Its lighter, seems strong, no signs of any pressure marks at all, and very fast. High Density Aerospace Composite Deck Skins and a new Paulownia/Balsa mix on the rails gives a faster flex response. Having surfed the tech in a couple of different models it does feel light but the speed through a stiffer feel and responsiveness is exceptional, Helium is here to stay. The Timbertek nose panel on the Helium Gem is both functional, for strength, and looks amazing.
