Description
The all new Channel Islands Mini surfboard by Al Merrick. This awesome new addition to the CI stable is a collaboration with Hawiian ripper Kalani Robb and car manufacturer MINI. By incorporating their common passion for performance and having fun CI have developed a versatile surfboard that performs in an unusually wide range of conditions and will benefit a broad spectrum of abilities and styles.
The Channel Islands MINI features an ultra relaxed rocker for fast paddling and early plane, a wider nose to get you into the wave early, wider squash tail to pick up weaker waves and make it round mushy sections, thinned out rails, and an aggressive single to double concave with vee running out through the tail.
Taking some pointers from Al’s popular Skinny Fish design the MINI incorporates all the speed and wave catching ability of a traditional fish with the performance benefits of a squash tail.
The Channel Islands Mini should be ridden 3-6″ shorter than your height (depending on ability) is designed to work best in knee to head high surf as your ‘go-to’ groveler.
