The Channel Islands High 5 surfboard by Al Merrick
The High 5 is the brainchild of the Channel Islands staff, a board designed to be super-fun and forgiving with a little bit of performance dialled in. The nimbler offspring of the Average Joe, the High 5 will ramp-up your wave count and still let you bury a rail and negotiate those mushy sections. The bottom shape rolls with a single concave entry into a deep double through the fins and ending with deep concave vee out through the tail. The High 5 comes standard with 5 fin boxes, and can be ridden as a thruster or a quad. You can ride the High 5 how you like, the crew at CI HQ suggest riding the High 5 from 3 to 5″ shorter than your height.
This versatile surfboard can be ridden by anyone from the progressing intermediate to the accomplished expert, in anything from knee high beachies to steep and punchy head high reefs.
