Description

The Channel Islands DFR surfboard by Al Merrick. NO, the Channel Islands DFR is not the “Dane Fred Rubble” the DFR is a new design from Dane ‘freaking’ Reynolds. This is an ultra-modern short board developed with Dane himself, the plan-shape cleverly allows for a shortened rail line while still maintaining plenty of drive. The bottom has a predominately single concave and features an aggressive flip in the exit rail rocker. The DFR is ready for massive airs but still allows for the heaviest buried rail carves you can lay down. What this means in terms of surfing for the mortal man is that you’ve got a board which sits in the pocket really well, turns as tight as any board around, but still has the down the line speed you need to beat the section ahead. A true perfromance shortboard in a wrold full of hybrids!
The full outline with its increased volume will allow you to ride the DFR about the same length as your height.
