The Reverso from Petzl is without a doubt the most praised belay device on the market. Its ease of use makes it a perfect device both for novice and seasoned climbers, be it for modern rock climbing or mountaineering. The markings on the sides will enable beginners to check at a glance if the device is used properly before the lead climber starts.  

The Reverso from Petzl will allow you to belay a lead and one or two seconding climbers. Ensuring you can climb in a rope team of 3, the device works as a plaquette at the belay stance by autolocking the seconding climbers’ ropes. In case of difficulties during the ascent of the seconding climbers, you will appreciate the small bottom hole that enables to unlock the plaquette mode, allowing you to lower your seconding climber smoothly and safely. For this, you only need to clip into this hole with a quickdraw or small carabiner.  

Ultra-versatile, the Reverso belay device enables you to rappel smoothly. In addition, it is compatible with most ropes on the market, single, double or twin. Still check that your rope diameter is within Petzl’s guidelines before climbing to avoid that the Reverso unintentionally jams or to prevent inefficient rope braking. Talking about braking, it performs superbly. With the V-shaped friction grooves, you can stop any fall without breaking a sweat. And to top it all off, the device weighs only 57 g and is easy to carry on your harness’ gear loop thanks to the wide plastic-coated twisted metal ring.

• Compatible with dynamic single ropes from 8.5 to 10.5 mm (11 mm may work depending on rope flexibility)
• Compatible with dynamic half ropes from 7.1 to 9.2 mm
• Compatible with dynamic twin ropes from 6.9 to 9.2 mm
